Mornings at the market have their own rhythm—farmers setting out baskets of produce, musicians tuning their guitars, and community members greeting each other like old friends. 4th Street Cheese Straws and Streets has grown to love being a part of this rush to get ready for the opening of the market.  As we set up the tent, prepare our displays, organize products and take photos for social media posts, we are thriving on the energy around us.

If you’ve never stopped by our tent at a market, here’s what you need to know—your very first stop at the tent will be the opportunity to enjoy free samples of each of our products. It’s like being welcomed into someone’s kitchen, where you’re invited to try a little of everything before deciding what to take home.

A Taste Tour You Won’t Forget

The free sample table isn’t just a courtesy—it’s an experience. You’ll start with the classic cheese straws, perfectly crisp with a buttery, cheddar-forward flavor that melts in your mouth with just a little heat at the end. Then you might get adventurous with the “Kick It Up” version, where a gentle heat builds due to the amount of cayenne, or “Calm It Down” for a mellow, savory nibble.

Next comes the Kick It Up Crackers, made with a heap of red pepper flakes mixed into an array of zesty ranch flavors that make them the perfect blend for all day snacking. Then there’s Southern Trash, a nostalgic snack mix of cereal, pretzels, pecans, and bits of broken cheese straws—this classic is utterly addictive. And just when you think you’ve had enough, we hand you a taste of the Cinnamon Cereal Mix, and suddenly you’re imagining it over vanilla ice cream, in a holiday gift basket, or in a secret snack stash just for you.

Handcrafted with Heart

Everything 4th Street brings to market is made in small batches, following traditional Southern recipes that have been loved for generations. The care shows in every bite—sharp cheddar for the cheese straws, toasted pecans in the Southern Trash, warm cinnamon sugar coating each cereal square. These aren’t mass-produced snacks; they’re personal, homemade, and brimming with the warmth of the South.

Perfect Packaging for Every Occasion

One of the joys of visiting 4th Street at the market is seeing all the ways you can take the flavors home:

  • Party Bags for family gatherings or tailgates.

  • Resealable Black Bags for everyday snacking.

  • Snack Bags for lunchboxes or gift baskets.

  • Traditional Tins tied with raffia ribbon for a classic, giftable presentation.

Whether you’re shopping for yourself, stocking up for a party, or planning gifts for friends, there’s a size and style to fit your needs.

More Than Just a Purchase—It’s a Connection

When you buy at the market, you’re getting more than fresh, flavorful snacks. You’re meeting the people behind the product—we love to tell you the story behind our recipes, share ideas for pairing snacks, and remember you when you come back next week.

And while 4th Street ships their treats all over the country, there’s something extra special about picking them up fresh at the City Market in Auburn or at the Huntsville Hospital Farmers Market in Huntsville. It’s a chance to be part of the local food community and take home a taste of Alabama tradition.

Your Market Day Game Plan

Here’s our advice: when you head to the market, make 4th Street Cheese Straws and Treats your very first stop. Enjoy the free samples, chat with Lisa and Amy, and let your taste buds guide you. Pick up a little something for yourself—and maybe a few extras for friends. Because once you’ve tasted these snacks, you’ll understand why 4th Street isn’t just another market vendor. They’re a delicious part of the community.
